We sang many Tales of Christmas, from Gregorian chants, to medieval carols, to spirituals, to the theme from Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!


Our celebration of the season featured Bach's Magnificat and festive songs of the season -- including a Muppet Medley.

The season closed with a bittersweet farewell to Artistic Director Benjamin Buchanan, who led us in lovely and exciting choral pieces from the past century all celebrating our Earth.


MCS, along with full orchestra and soloists, celebrated Artistic Director Dr. Douglas Buchanan's farewell concert featuring his original composition Altus Prosator and selections from Haydn's Creation.


2022-23 Season

 

MCS rang in the season with a holiday celebration featuring Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols and classic carols of the season.

MCS continued the concert season with one of the world's most beloved masterworks with a new completion of the unfinished work by Artistic Director Dr. Douglas Buchanan. MCS also performed the Miserere by Marianna von Martines, a renowned 18th-century composer.

An afternoon celebrating the universality of love. Featuring Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes -- accompanied by two concert pianists playing together on one piano -- plus songs of personal and sacred love from a variety of traditions.


2021-2022 Season:

MCS celebrated 50 years of music making with a gala concert featuring some of our most beloved works showcasing our choir’s range and diversity.

MCS continued our 50th Anniversary Season with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem and Five Mystical Songs with full orchestra and soloists.

Our 50th season opened with Vivaldi’s Gloria and festive carols of the season. We welcomed former Artistic Director (1997-2001), Ernest Johnson, to the share the podium.
